Popular Bali shop owner ‘Jimmy Hendrix’ fed up with starring in tourists’ travel videos as he loses it with visitors who film him for TikTok while he tries to do his job
A popular Balinese shop owner who went viral for his potty-mouthed tirades when dealing with customers has had enough, telling visitors to stop filming him unless they’re going to buy something.
The owner, nicknamed ‘Jimmy Hendrix’, has run a store in Kuta selling merchandise since 2009 and recently became popular online after his gimmick of swearing and hurling insults at visitors was well received by Aussie travellers.
Jimmy and his store quickly became a tourist hotspot with many taking to TikTok to document their unusual customer service experience.
In a video shared online, the Balinese local is seen looking defeated as two Aussies enter his store.
Waving his hands at the two boys, Jimmy tells them they’re not welcome to film unless they’re actually shopping.
‘No more camera unless you shop in here,’ he warns.
‘Nah, I got money. I’m going to buy [something],’ the tourist is heard saying.
Jimmy then repeats his message: ‘Make sure you buy.’
After a brief conversation about what products he was selling, the pair begin to barter for the price of a shirt that reads ‘Jimmy F****ing Hendrix’.
The cameraman steps in for a closer look, with the store owner angrily gesturing him away.
‘Stop f***ing coming here, you dumb c***,’ Jimmy is heard saying.
The store owner however had a different tone in a recent video uploaded to TikTok, telling two visitors to stop filming if they weren’t going to buy something (pictured)
Looking rather unimpressed, the store owner offers Locky the shirt for $15.
‘That’s all good brother, keep the change,’ the traveller said, handing him a $20 note.
‘I don’t need a bag, I’m going to put [the shirt] straight on,’ he added.
Jimmy then spews another round of x-rated insults before the two shake hands.
‘Jimmy Hendrix your (sic) a legend brothe (sic) don’t go in there and just record him for the views actually look after him,’ the Aussie holiday-goer captioned the video.
Social media users shared their sympathy for the local shop owner, with many agreeing Jimmy looked tired.

Many social media users sympathised with Jimmy (pictured, left), commenting he looked ‘tired’ and probably didn’t want to be hassled
‘Poor guy wants to just sell shirts he don’t want to be hassled,’ one wrote.
‘Good bloke. But some people just use him for videos and views and don’t buy off him,’ another user commented.
‘Onya for buying a shirt brother.’
A third wrote: ‘Nahhhh who was mean to Jimmy? Who made him feel this way?’
‘Jimmy looks sad someone should ask him if he’s ok,’ another said.
‘I gave him a 100 tip before recording he was so thankful but he also explained how he was sick of the phones being pointed at his face and no one comes in and buys things they just want clout I asked him if he was okay and he said he has his days,’ one tourist shared.
The video has since racked up over 2.3 million views.
