Jane Fonda has shared her unconventional take on love and dating during an interview on comedian Heather McMahan’s podcast, Absolutely Not.

When probed about about dating in her 80s, Fonda dropped a bombshell, stating, ‘I’m ashamed to say this, but if I were to take a lover, he’d have to be 20.’

Then, when asked why 20 was specifically appealing, Jane deadpanned ‘Because I don’t like old skin.’

While McMahan and the producers burst out laughing, Fonda remained quite serious, adding ‘I don’t!’

The interview, which has since gone viral, has sparked a flurry of reactions from fans and critics alike.

One person commented on a clip of the podcast posted on TikTok saying ‘Jane Fonda can say this lol she’s the goat,’ while others have agreed, writing ‘Me too Jane’.

Another wrote ‘y’all are not about to try and cancel Jane plz. She’s being funny.’

Some applaud Fonda for her unfiltered honesty, while others have raised eyebrows at her unconventional dating preference.

This isn’t the first time Fonda has spoken openly about her personal life.

In 2018, she vowed not to return to the dating scene, and in 2021, she expressed a lack of desire for a romantic relationship.

Fonda has been vocal about embracing a life without romantic entanglements and has consistently challenged societal norms regarding aging and relationships.

The seasoned actor, known for her illustrious career spanning decades, also shared insights into her unique perspective on ‘growing up.’

Fonda previously stated that she feels ‘younger now [at age 84] than I was in my 20s.’

According to her, this rejuvenation is the result of a 70-year pursuit of ‘becoming young.’

In an interview with Stellar Magazine last year, Fonda elaborated on her philosophy, describing youth as a state of being ‘light’ and unburdened.

‘Young, [as in] light, not feeling a great burden on my shoulders. Learning how to be present, learning how to accept what comes, learning that we don’t have any control…something bad will happen, been there, done that and I survived.’

Back in 2020, Fonda revealed she has ‘closed up shop’ and is done dating after three marriages.

Jane’s last relationship – eight years with music producer Perry – ended in January 2017.

Insisting that they were still ‘very good friends,’ the duo listed their luxurious Beverly Hills home for a cool $13 million that month.

The duo were introduced by her actress niece Bridget Fonda in 2008 and a year later, it was claimed that they were planning their wedding.

The actress was previously married to CNN founder Ted Turner for 10 years, until 2001.

The Grace And Frankie star also wed politician Tom Hayden in 1973, one year after divorcing film director Roger Vadim who cast her in the sci fi film Barbarella.
