A dance teacher has revealed the single most infuriating name she's ever come across

A dance teacher has revealed the single most infuriating name she’s ever come across.

Devin, from the US, recently responded to a viral TikTok asking the question: ‘What’s the trashiest name you’ve ever heard?’

The young teacher shared that she’s seen a lot of ‘wild’ and ‘out there’ names over her career – but a child’s strange moniker takes the cake.

‘I get it, everyone wants to be different,’ she thought when she came across the name: La/a

‘I looked at it for a long time and then thought – I’ve got it, it’s Leia,’ she said – but the teacher was terribly mistaken.

She called and asked for Leia’s parents – but the mum on the other end was befuddled.

‘Who?’ she kept repeating.

When it finally clicked, the mum snapped: ‘That’s the wrong name.’

Devin was confused and politely asked the parent how she should pronounce the child’s name.

The mum finally revealed that her daughter’s name was ‘La-dash-ah’ and that the “https://www.dailymail.co.uk/” wasn’t silent.

Devin shared that the naming principle was foreign to her, because while she previously taught a child name ‘La/Money’, his dash was silent.

Thousands on TikTok rolled their eyes at the strange name, with some critiquing the moniker.

‘Tell me why I said LaSlasha because that’s a slash not a dash,’ one said.

‘I said ‘La-AH’,’ another offered, while a third thought it was ‘Lala’.

One revealed, ‘I said Laura because LaORa.’

But not everyone was surprised.

‘I knew it was Ladasha because my mum worked in child support,’ one said.

‘I’m so glad that in Finland all the names go through system where they decline inappropriate names,’ another added.

A bail bond clerk previously revealed the ‘most ridiculous’ names she has come across in her line of work – and the inspiration behind some of them will surprise you.

Chey, the employee, was originally commenting on how a woman who named her son ‘Cartier Kior’ – after the luxury jewellery brand and designer label ‘Dior’ – was not the weirdest name she’s ever heard.

Her career means she encounters several ‘out of pocket’ names including ‘Orangelo’ and ‘Lamongelo’.

Chey revealed that the siblings in question were named after household desserts orange jello and lemon jello.

‘I work for a bail bond’s business and we get a lot of weird names,’ Chey said in a video. ‘My co-worker got two of the weirdest names we’ve ever heard – Orangelo and Lamongelo.’

The woman was shocked that their mother found such a strong connection to jelly that she would actually name her children after the dessert.

Many in the comments revealed the strange names they’ve come across – with some even pointing to their own birth certificate as evidence.

‘My name is Sativa,’ a woman said dejectedly, referencing a type of marijuana.  ‘Growing up with it was not fun.’

‘I work in admissions at a university, and I had an applicant named Saturday May because he was born on a Saturday in May,’ another woman revealed.
