I’m a plus size and bought a swimsuit from Shein, I can’t wear the bikini in front of my family because it’s too small
A plus-size fashion influencer has revealed why she doesn’t buy swimwear from Shein, after discovering there wasn’t enough coverage in a strappy bikini.
Kristen, who goes by Kristencaaakes on TikTok, revealed her latest purchase from the fast fashion site and said she wanted to try clothes outside of her comfort zone.
She decided to try on the $12 string bikini, but quickly said she couldn’t wear it in front of her family.
‘I knew the tie situation [on the bikini bottoms] when I ordered, but I really thought from the photos that it would be a little higher up,” he said.
“There’s no coverage here and most of the time when I’m swimming I’m with my family, it’s too risky so I’ll try to forget this ever happened.”
But it was not all bad news for the influencer.

She also tried on a dress that she thought would be great for the pool or even a summer wedding.
But she struggled to find a bikini she liked, after donning a $15 pink two-piece with beading.
“In this one, I don’t really care about the top, but then again, I don’t know if I wasn’t looking at the pictures, but these are not high-waisted pants,” she said.
She then sampled a $13 pink two-piece, before adding, “I just want to say it’s not as bad as the previous ones, but it’s still not great, the cups are [too high]not a contender.’
She also tried on a dress that she thought would be great for the pool or even a summer wedding.
Finally, she managed to find something to wear poolside: a $12 cutout one-piece with pink and white polka dots.
“Actually, I think this one is really cute”,
“Going pink for a bathing suit is out of my comfort zone because I always feel like black is better, it’s going to hide everything.
Her followers were very supportive, writing, “Loved the pink polka dot swimsuit and the latest dress.”
