‘If you don’t like it, maybe go find another job’: Owner texts fired DoorDash delivery guy who cursed her out after she tipped him $5 on $20 pizza order, while sharing receipt of your order

A homemaker who was sworn in by her DoorDash driver for what she considered an insufficient tip messaged the now-redundant driver.
News broke that the driver, Corey, who was tipped $5 for a $22.78 order, was dropped by the company after giving his opinion on tipping in an obnoxious manner.
He told Lacey Purciful, 38, that he had a “nice house for a $5 tip,” to which the shocked owner could only respond with, “You’re welcome.”
Not taking kindly to that response, Corey left with a “fuck you” parting as Lacey closed the door.
Now, Lacey hit back at the driver, as he shared a photo of her order receipt.
Lacey Purciful, 38, was shocked and reported the ordeal after Corey the worker suggested someone living in a $500,000 house like her should have been more generous.
Lacey shared the receipt for her order on TikTok, which showed that she had tipped the driver 22 percent.
Speaking to Inside Edition, he told Corey: “If you didn’t like it, I’m sorry, maybe you’ll find a job that pays more.”
He also shared a screenshot of his receipt on his TikTok, saying it was “the receipt some have been dying to see.”
The $5 tip for a $22.78 order, for breadsticks and a medium pizza from Pizza Hut, constitutes a 22 percent tip, well above what is typical for a small order.
The people who commented on the clip were blown away by the whole thing.
One said they were a ‘former DD driver’. I would never complain about a tip.
Another admitted, “I would tip $2 for a $20 order.”
After the story originally broke, commenters were already overwhelmingly supporting the whistleblower.
One wrote: ‘Tipping is out of control. 5 out of 20 is more than enough.
Some of Lacey’s Facebook friends chimed in as well.
One was especially horrified: ‘WTF?! You obviously don’t even need the money! Because someone who needs the money or the job wouldn’t risk it for a tip!
‘And you ordered $20 worth of food, what did you expect? A $20 tip? You were too kind.
Another added: “I laugh more every time I see this…you were so nice and super chill.”
Rather than get aggressive in person, the mom-of-two politely thanked Corey and told him “you’re welcome” before closing the door, despite her aggression on the porch.

In addition to firing the cranky driver, DoorDash has given Lacey $80 in credit to spend on future orders.
His spokesperson told DailyMail.com after the incident: “Respectfully asking for a tip is acceptable, but abusing or harassing someone is never acceptable.”
“We have removed this Dasher from our platform and are reaching out to the customer.
‘Our rules exist to help ensure that everyone who uses our platform (Dashers, customers, merchants) has a safe and enjoyable experience.
“We expect everyone to treat others with respect and we will enforce our rules fairly and consistently.”
