While most newlyweds embrace the special milestone of getting married, one groom ruined this for himself by being glued to his phone. It’s unclear what the boyfriend is up to, with many speculating that he was texting.
A video of the moment surfaced online with the gorgeous bride looking beaming with an ear-to-ear smile, but the groom barely glanced at her.
In the clip, the groom can’t seem to take his eyes off his phone and barely makes eye contact with well-wishers as he leaves the church.
The only time the couple make eye contact is when they leave the premises and the girlfriend appears to make a sarcastic comment about their behaviour.
The ‘disrespectful act’ did not go down well with the others and many felt sorry for the bride.
One asked: ‘What could be so important to be on the phone on your wedding day?’
“It was supposed to be one of the most memorable moments but he chose to be on her phone while she was happy and enjoying the moment,” added another.
This isn’t the first time a groom has broken wedding etiquette on his own big day.
Last year, an Australian bride caught her now-husband watching football on his phone during her wedding and again at her brother’s wedding.
Blake, 29, from Sydney, leaned his phone against the three-tier wedding cake to watch the game during his wedding reception in August 2020, and his girlfriend, Dani Russell, was not pleased.
She said that Blake just can’t stop watching football, and that she would never let her wedding day get in the way of her great love for the sport.

Her TikTok video, which was viewed more than 11 million times, showed Blake’s phone leaning against her three-tier wedding cake.
Dani said: “We had to cancel our wedding three times due to COVID and had no choice but to reschedule during football season.”
“I had been planning since we got engaged, but had to rush through last-minute plans to get it done before the pandemic got worse.
‘I wasn’t surprised [that he was watching sport] and I think his godfather placed the phone for him.
After filming the moment of the wedding day, in which the bride seems unimpressed, and posting it on TikTok, the clip amassed 11.5 million views.
