Furious Father Reveals Eye-watering Amount He Had To Spend At Disneyland, Urges Everyone To Stay Away

Mario Zelaya, a Canadian father of two, felt he was taking his family to the ‘happiest place on earth’ when he took them to Disneyland Paris.

The man, on the other hand, was having a miserable day and turned to TikTok to explain why.

Zelaya blamed the majority of his dissatisfaction on high ticket prices and long wait times for rides, referring to Disney as the “biggest money printing machine.”

Dad made a regrettable decision when he visited Disneyland in Paris, feeling almost ashamed of the substantial amount of money he ended up spending. The tickets alone cost him 1100 euros, which translates to $1200 for Americans and $1600 for Canadians.

His choice to upgrade to the premier passes for 160 euros per person was driven by one primary factor – the long lines that plagued the theme park.

It was astonishing how crowded Disneyland was, regardless of whether it was in Paris, Orlando, or California. Frustrated by the neverending queues, Dad decided to pay the full amount for the premium passes.

The “It’s A Small World” ride, which he described as less than exciting, took one hour and fifteen minutes to complete, even with the upgraded passes that allowed them to bypass the queue.

The dad claimed he waited in line for over 25 hours

Despite the less-than-thrilling experiences and the substantial cost, Dad and his family waited in line for over 25 hours combined for all the rides they went on.

This made him believe that purchasing the Disney access pass to skip the lines was a more favourable option than opting for a three-day park stay without upgrades, as it effectively meant spending most of the time waiting in queues.

Throughout their visit from start to finish, they couldn’t even manage to ride all the attractions due to the incessant crowds.

Dad’s advice to others considering a trip to Disney World was clear: if it’s a lifelong dream for you or your children, go for it, but be sure to obtain the line bypass to make the experience more enjoyable.

According to the New York Post, the cost of admission tickets to Disney World and Disneyland has increased by more than 3,871% in the last 50 years.

During the height of the pandemic, Disney closed its parks, only to reopen them and hike prices to make up for some of the losses.

Estimates show that theme park ticket prices have been gradually rising since 1971, rising through numerous financial calamities ranging from the 1973 oil crisis to the 2008 financial crisis, culminating with the pandemic.
