An excited bride-to-be has gone viral after pulling her engagement ring out of its box while her fiancé was still in the midst of proposing.

Although TikTok creator Courtney Ward was excited about her new ring, some online critics had thoughts about her eagerness to out her new bling on her finger – some accusing her of being ‘snobbish’ and even telling her fiancé to ‘run.’

‘No one, absolutely no one,’ Courtney wrote on the eight-second video. ‘Me: takes the engagement ring and puts it on while he’s still talking.’

The clip showed her reaching over and plucking the ring from the box her then-boyfriend, Stephen, was holding, while he waited on one knee.

In the background, she had a sound effect of a person repeating ‘no, no, no’ and laughing. 

‘In my defense it was so beautiful I had to put it on right then and there!’ she captioned the video, which has been viewed more than 1.9 million times.

Although many could see the sweet side to her excitement over her engagement – and rush to wear her beautiful new diamond ring – some accused her of being greedy or rude for not listening to what he was saying.

‘I know someone who did this… they got divorced in 5 months,’ an ominous TikToker wrote.

‘Run sir,’ another advised, with someone agreeing: ‘it’s just rude.’

‘Yea she’s super entitled run brother run!’ one critic said.

‘This is a huge red flag,’ a user wrote, with another chiming in to say having her phone in her hand during the proposal was another red flag.

‘She is more interested in the jewelry than the love itself,’ someone else declared.

Courtney responded to some of the criticism in the comments, saying she was so excited she didn’t full realize what was happening.

‘Some people are acting like I’m a horrible person for doing it… it was an immediate reaction,’ Courtney wrote in a comment.

‘I think this is normal I’ve seen it a lot,’ another assured.

Zenicca Llanza, 24, from the Philippines, shared a video of her boyfriend getting down on one knee at the beach.

While her husband-to-be had arranged everything for the picture-perfect moment, another beachgoer decided to interfere and rearrange the set up before interrupting the moment.

‘How to quickly ruin a proposal,’ Zenicca wrote on TikTok.

‘Please be mindful of other people’s once in a lifetime event! You never know you’re already ruining it,’ she wrote.
