Gua means ‘scratch’ and Sha means ‘petechiae’ (small, flat, red and purple spots) in Chinese,” Dr. Ervina Wu, PhD, L.Ac., and co-founder of YINA, told Harper’s Bazaar.
‘Gua Sha started out as a full body treatment, something most people don’t realize as facial techniques have only recently become popular.
“The key point is to scrape the skin (commonly the upper back) to invigorate blood flow, release heat toxins, stimulate lymphatic drainage, activate various points on the body, and bring helpful cells to the area by stimulating an immune response. Sometimes this action creates some discoloration on the skin, which can look dramatic. But rest assured, there is no pain and petechiae usually disappear within a matter of days.
Graham added: ‘I also really like the red light infrared sauna blankets.
‘I think they are so healing. It’s great to lie in bed, snuggle into one, and sweat your butt off. That’s really great for your body.
The model also spoke with Byrdie about how she finds the time to squeeze her skincare in between work and parenting.

“I’m at a stage in life where a crying baby is more important than putting on SPF,” she says. In time it will get going.
Her skincare routine has had to accommodate her work and parenting schedule:
“I definitely don’t have time anymore,” she shared.
‘Everything in the morning has to be faster and with fewer steps. I used to be the kind of person [where] everything has its own little space and is stored away. Now, if it’s not outside and I can’t see it, it’s not happening.’
She admits her biggest high school beauty mistake:
‘I’ll admit it first hand, when I was in high school I tanned in tanning beds. Then I realized, this is very bad for me.
‘I’ll look wrinkled when I’m 40. When I first started traveling for my job, they expected you to be tanned.
‘I thought, how the hell am I going to get a tan? I’m pasty pale. I have Irish in my blood.
‘People think I’m from another ethnicity sometimes, I’m not. I’m your typical white girl from Nebraska.
Unexpected skincare products that you never skip are staples.
‘I’m obsessed with washing my face with Dial Hand Soap ($8).
‘I saw this girl with perfect skin on TikTok using it so I did and I haven’t been back. Leave everything so clean. Like she literally pulls everything out of your skin, it’s crazy.
